Word Dracula Day 2024

To celebrate World Dracula Day 2024, I have uploaded my newest paper here, dealing with the debate about the Nordic versions of Dracula. As the title already suggests, there were some issues in my ongoing discussion with Rickard Berghorn that needed to be set straight. Already his 2017 essay "Dracula's Way to Sweden" had a very unpleasant tone and "forgot" to include credits for many ideas presented there. Berghorn's introduction of June 2022 to his English translation has demonstrated, alas, that subtle irony is not enough to stop him. Following a suggestion of Anthony Hogg, founder and president of the Vampire Studies Association, I have started to spell out the various points where Berghorn's writings are crossing the line - or are "simply wrong," to use one of his terms. Along the way, I hope to deepen our understanding of Makt myrkranna und Mörkrets makter, and their differences and similarities with respect to Stoker's Dracula and his research notes.

The Berghorn Supremacy - Fouls and Offsides in the Debate about the Nordic Versions of Dracula
A paper launched on World Dracula Day, May 26, 2024, paying attention to the debate about the Nordic versions of Dracula and especially to the rhetoric and arguments used by my main opponent, Rickard Berghorn. The essay discusses his disparaging tone, his obvious plagiarism and a series of objections to my theories; the paper demonstrates that these objections are not valid and constitute "foul play."
